This project from Cornell’s Emergent Climate Risk Lab (ECRL) predicts spring onset weeks to months in advance by focusing on the timing of spring indicators. These seasonal outlooks could be used by growers and natural resource managers to make critical decisions about how to allocate resources on long-lead time horizons. The products available from this project include:
- Forecasted spring onset dates
- Forecasted spring onset anomalies (days “early” or “late” compared to 1981-2010 average conditions)
For more information about these products, please visit the ECRL Springcasting web site.
